Outside my window
a very tired little Mother Robin
has been working hard on first building her nest and
then laying her precious eggs in it.
A wonderful home.
Not made with soft, fluffy comforts but with
sticks and hay and grass and a cleverness to put them all
together that I don't possess.
She has found a very cozy spot to make her nest,
and I hope she feels safe in it.
She does get a bit scared when we make noise around her,
and flies off to a shed to look down on us and
wait impatiently until we are done so she
can get back to sitting on her eggs again.
But we know she is anxious, and so we try to hurry.
That's where she was when I took these pictures, and flew off when
I tried to get her picture.
She's very shy.
Lucky for her, we won't move this tractor until
her babies are born, and grown enough to move
out on their own.
We are also waitng impatiently to meet our new
littlest neighbors.
